The Cookbook Club Is Back!
February 6, 2012 in Events
This is the first cookbook club in many months, but have a look on their website or the Cookbook Club Facebook pageto see pictures from previous events with Paul Flynn, Catherine Fulvio, Clodagh McKenna, Domini Kemp, Kevin Dundon, Darina Allen, Brenda Costigan, Donal Skehan, phew! The idea behind it is that a well known chef-author hands their cookbook over to the restaurant team to re-create/interpret a selection of signature dishes from his/her most recent cookbook. The chef-author takes the diners through the menu at the beginning and then during service circulates to meet the diners. There is also an opportunity for book sales and signing towards the end of the evening. It is all very informal and invariably makes for a night of fun and delicious food!
For their next event, the Cookbook Club is proud to present the Michelin-starred Derry Clarke, whose cookbook Not Just a Cookbook will be adapted for the whole menu – that’s starters, mains, desserts and side dishes – on the night of March 5th in the Radisson Blu, Verres en Ver restaurant, Dublin City Centre. Derry and Sallyanne Clarke are the renowned owners of award-winning restaurant L’Ecrivain and Not Just a Cookbook is the magnificent result of many years of L’Ecrivain’s own house style of cooking.
Tickets have now been released on www.thecookbookclub.ie at €35 each for this gourmet meal deal. People are usually seated in merry tables of 10, but if you would like a table for just 2 or 4 etc. then that is perfect too, just drop Elaine a quick email at so it’s noted on the table plan. Dinner kicks off at 7 p.m.
The Cookbook Club is in a new gorgeous venue at the Radisson Blu’s Brasserie Verres En Ver on Golden Lane, just a few minutes’ walk from Grafton Street. Declan Dunne is the Executive Chef tasked with cooking from Derry’s cookbook whilst Derry mingles and sits with you at your table.
Keep an eye on their website or Facebook page for details of upcoming authors and events.
