Eat Your Books
July 17, 2012 in Events
At the new website Eat Your Books, they are indexing the recipes in cookbooks, magazines and blogs so that you can search across all their recipe sources at once. They have indexed over 700,000 recipes so far – indexing means they add ingredients, recipe type, ethnicity, special diet, occasion and course to their database and you can then search through your own books, magazines and online recipes for exactly the recipe you want. You then use the book or magazine to cook from or link to the online source, e.g. a blog. There is no other website in the world that allows you to search your own books, magazines and the blogs you like. There are plenty of recipe search engines that search the web, but the difference with Eat Your Books is that you are searching printed sources as well and can add the blogs you like to your Bookshelf so you can search the recipes you know you can trust, rather than the huge expanse of the web.
Eat Your Books is offering a free six-month membership to the members of the Irish Food Bloggers Association. If you like using the site and blog about EYB or add the EYB widget to your blog, then EYB will extend your membership to lifetime (worth hundreds of dollars). The EYB widget allows your blog readers to look at your EYB Bookshelf – people love seeing what cookbooks other people own.
If you want to avail of the free six-month membership, use the voucher code BLOGCOMP06 when you sign up at www.eatyourbooks.com. If you have any questions after that, contact .
