Invitation to the launch of Newgrange Gold Premium Irish Seed Oils
August 30, 2012 in Events
IFBA members are invited to the launch of Newgrange Gold Premium Irish Seed Oils on Wednesday, 12 September 2012 at 12.30pm at Crewbane, Slane, Co. Meath. The launch will include a tour of the oil-making process led by the producer John Rogers followed by lunch featuring dishes prepared with Newgrange Gold oils by Jenny Glasgow and Reuven Diaz from the Eastern Seaboard Bar and Grill.
Newgrange Gold is a range of premium Irish seed oils produced by John Rogers on his farm in the Boyne Valley. The range comprises Rapeseed, Chilli Garlic, Garden Herbs and Camelina. Camelina is a forgotten seed with a great provenance and is the jewel in the crown. It’s abundant in Omegas 3, 6 and 9, which encourage good cholesterol. It went out of vogue during WW2 due to its low yield and the expense of producing it.

The launch is by invitation only – be sure to RSVP to Julia at by Wednesday, 5 September. Places are limited and are available on a first come, first served basis. A free bus to Crewbane is also available, leaving at 11 am from opposite the Kilkenny Shop, Nassau Street, Dublin 2 and returning at 3.30 pm. Please let Julia know if you would like to reserve a seat.
