Savour Kilkenny: Food Camp 2012
September 28, 2012 in Events
Were you there two years ago when we launched the Irish Food Bloggers Association and caught presentations about bee keeping and coffee making? Or at the 2011 event, when we reviewed the IFBA’s first year, discussed what Ireland is eating and debated the glories (and embarrassments) of Irish food culture? Or maybe you were at one of the incredible picnic-style lunches, eating food made and contributed by all the participants.
The Savour Kilkenny Food Camp is back! This year’s event will be taking place on Friday 26 from 9am to 2pm at the Ormonde Hotel, as part of the Savour Kilkenny food festival. The morning will feature sessions on a variety of topics and the afternoon will orientate around a themed discussion, chaired by John McKenna:
“Taking Back Our Food – Avoiding a delicious disaster!”
How we can regain control of the food we eat? And re-establish a sustainable relationship with the land? We are living through an era when we are being bombarded with food from all over the world, in all sorts of combinations. The average supermarket carries thousands of different processed product lines. It is time to take back control of our food chain to avoid a ”delicious disaster” ..which will leave a very bad taste…
All are welcome to attend but places are limited. Register for free now at Foodcamp.ie.

Unfortunately Kristin won’t be able to make it along this time. I’ll be there though. Really looking forward to it.
